Course Synopsis
Systemic health is related to oral health and vice versa. Many systemic diseases are manifested in the oral cavity and many oral conditions and therapies have a profound impact upon systemic diseases. In addition, some of the therapies used to these conditions have significant effects on the oral cavity. For those reasons, it is important for dentists ( and dental health care professionals) to know about their patients' medical conditions before treating them and to understand which diseases manifest themselves in the oral cavity. This course will present a thorough overview of the principles of the management of medical conditions in dental patients, Furthermore, the participant will be updated upon current understanding and treatment of oral conditions such as oral cancer, xerostomia, lichen planus and candidiasis among others.

Pangasinan Dental Chapter 81st Convention

The 81st annual convention of the Philippine Dental Association Pangasinan Chapter was successfully held on January 6 2011 at the CSI Stadia Dagupan City. Two lecturers were invited. Dr. Ma. Lourdes Coronacion lectured on TMJ Updates while Dr. Ronaldo Nunez lectured about Ill fitted Removable Dentures. Induction of new set of officers started after the Scientific Seminar. Dr. Agnes Padlan-Silvino was inducted as President of Pangasinan Dental Chapter by the outgoing president Dr. Ma. Victoria Tandoc. Keynote address was given by the Philippine Dental Association President Dr. Roberto M Tajonera. Sadly, the Guest of Honor, Gov. Amado T Espino did not attend the event.

One of the social highlights of the Philippine Dental Association's Annual Convention is the evening of fun, dance and friendships renewed, the FELLOWSHIP NIGHT. Every year, the organizers take pride in the concepts and cheer this brings to our delegates. For this year, we will take the dentists on a fantastic musical journey, beyond borders. Showcasing pop hits from various countries around the globe will be some of the Philippines' foremost vocal stylists in the field of jazz and afro-latin sounds, together with the Tony Benett of the Philippines, an R&B songstress and some other surprise artists and numbers as well. All to give fun and entertainment to all the dentists who will be attending our convention.

And lets us not forget, the much awaited chapter competitions which have been eagerly awaited for every year. This year we'll be focusing on showstoppers like Bollywood, Flamenco, Nippon punk, Argentinian tango, Egyptian bellydancing, Caribbean reggae, Brasilian samba, the Mowtown sound, and many others. A windfall of prizes will also be raffled off to lucky attendees. So definitely, this year will be one spectacular event once again.

PDA 102nd Annual convention Opening Ceremony

The Philippine Dental Association 102nd Annual Convention & Scientific Meeting Opening Ceremony will be held on October 20, 2010 in Function rooms 4 and 5 Level 3. The program starts promptly at 9 am. Dr. Rodel C. Baltazar is the chairman and Dr. Corazon S. Bartolo is co-chair of the ceremony. Attire is "Distinctively Asian".
